Today, I began a five-day appointment in a Pre-Primary cohort. Beautiful children, bursting with life and still learning how to behave in the classroom. I have committed this year, to practising meditation and I already found myself using some body-scanning techniques in the classroom in order to 'check myself' before responding to the children.
These techniques In the classroom today, we had several children with additional needs who were exhibiting challenging behaviour simultaneously. Accessing the mindfulness techniques I have been practising, helped to create the space between stimulus and action that is so crucial to how we respond to a situation.
